Distance Covered:

Off-shore from the clubhouse which gave a wind shadow and super gusty close in, but cleaner wind further out. The trick was to go downwind far enough to pick up the wind. but not so far that the chop had built up. Had some screaming runs flat out and then went for it on the gybes on the flat water - planed out of a few and crashed one having to swim after my kit. Had not used anything bigger than 5.7 for ages and the 6.7 was hard work at times. Cold hands from the low air temp, but the water did not feel too bad. Good session.
